Cardi B confirmed her separation from Offset during an Instagram Live session on Monday, addressing rumors that had been circulating about their split.
She expressed relief during the live stream, stating she’d been single for a while but had struggled with sharing this with the world.

Referencing clues she’d dropped on social media, Cardi B mentioned that attentive fans might have picked up on signals through her posts, music choices, and unfollowing actions.

Optimistically looking ahead, the “WAP” rapper spoke of starting 2024 on a fresh, open note, expressing her excitement and curiosity for new beginnings.

Hints of their breakup emerged when followers noticed the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Cardi further alluded to the separation in Instagram Stories, mentioning outgrowing relationships and prioritizing her own well-being.

While Cardi and Offset married in 2017 and have two children together, this isn’t their first instance of contemplating separation. In 2020, Cardi filed for divorce but later withdrew her petition.

Unfollow each other on social media

The rappers, who got married in September 2017, have chosen to unfollow each other on Instagram. Moreover, the “Bodak Yellow” artist, aged 31, posted enigmatic messages on her Instagram Story on Monday. One read, “You know when you just outgrow relationships,” followed by, “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I MUST PRIORITIZE MYSELF.”

On his own Instagram Story, the 31-year-old member of Migos shared a clip of Al Pacino’s character from “Scarface” shouting, “Hey, forget you, man! Who put this thing together? Me! Who do I trust? Me!”

Cardi made runway debut

Cardi recently made her runway debut at Balenciaga’s fall 2024 show in Los Angeles, where numerous A-listers witnessed her performance. However, her husband was noticeably absent. Nonetheless, the “Bad and Boujee” artist ensured an extravagant celebration for his wife’s 31st birthday in October, gifting her nearly half a million dollars’ worth of Hermès bags.
